Right now, I am full of delicious food, warm, safe. I am in good health. I smile. My legs are carrying me through my familiar neighborhood. My ears hear the rumble of cars passing, a dog barking, a law mower cutting grass. My eyes see the clouds tinted gold and pink from the sunset; the green grass and brown bark, the pale gray concrete sidewalk. When I pass others, they smile back: the tall white haired man in a baseball cap, the barefoot man and woman hand-in-hand, the thin woman in Lycra with a yoga mat across her back.
I know I have friends and family I love and who love me back.
I have savings. My bills are paid. I have a job; I know I am lucky to have this job.
My mind is at ease, neither regretting the past nor worrying about the future. I am simply present in this moment.
I am happy. Right now.
